A heroic size
(larger than lifesize) fragment of a bust. Winner of the Prix de Portrait Paul
Louis Weiller, Musée des Beaux-Arts, Paris, France 1986 Also winner of the Chelsea Arts Society Award for Sculpture, London, England 1992 There's a sad story behind this sculpture portrait... in more ways than one. It is larger than lifesize (twice lifesize), and originally I modelled the clay using an old B movie actress from Hollywood as a model. Hard life, hard lines, chain-smoking lady... I included the neck at the time, and created her entire portrait or bust in the round. The finished piece in bronze has this great broken fragment aspect about it - relevant in that my mother was dying in Paris at the time I was casting it - and the back of the waste mould broke into a thousand irreparable pieces. It has received excellent feedback from a variety of sources, so really out of the bleakness of grief both in the model and the casting circumstances came something extremely positive. artwork, finished lifesize bronze only. Artwork prices will not include travel
expenses (which may be minimal depending on where I am), base (can be slate,
marble, wood, or bronze to suit the sculpture) or costs of shipping the bronze
